Guest guest Posted October 6, 2001 Report Share Posted October 6, 2001 Howdy folks My husband and I just bought our first house here in vermont...we are busy making it smell like home with our EO cleaning potions and such- its getting there- An interesting thing happened. I found four cases of tins of lye in the attic- like antique ones-an OLD man lived here, and his wife must have made soap- i know she was a gardener- we found lots of old pots in the basement and a container labeled " dandelions, 1984 " ....(I love it when people love dandelions). SOO I guess it is time to make soap- Ive always wanted to try- and this stuff seems like it is still good- I dont suppose lye goes bad!! I think that cold front is on its way here this weekend- I hear its supposed to snow- and its been in the 70s!! Yowza- I am a little nervous as I have lived in Northern California and Arizona for the last 15 years!! (wool long underwear here I come!!!
