Well, considering I'd have to replace the hard drive, and my printer and scanner are ancient, at that point I might as well be getting a new system rather than piecing old and new part together ;( know anyone there who can check it out > for ya? Heck, replacing a computer is " never " usually in the plan... always > happens at the wrong time, as if there's a right time.. Good thing you've at > least got the laptop though... THANK GOODNESS!!!! I got it for Butch and myself for my trip to Turkey and I am so glad we got it! and there are some good deals out there on > computers too. Yep, looking at them all! My laptop has more power than my desktop does But it's still like working on a pay phone, if you know what I mean! Haven't used Windows 2000.. son has and is using WindowsMe and > actually likes it though he's running more than one OS on the computer at a > time.... we're kinda all stuck with Windows, no matter how we like or don't like > it though - we're using '98 second edition here and I still miss '95... heck, I > still miss the days of DOS!!!!!!!!! (at least it worked!) Good luck! Windows 2000 is the new version of Windows NT, which I have been told time and time again is the most stable Windows O/S (and I am not getting a MAC, I'd have to learn computer all over again! I worked with NT at my last job and it was a good thing. > Marilyn *Smile* Chris http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Hi Chris, Everyone I talk to who has 98 says they have problems and usually I can fix them. It was a terrible program as far as I am concerned. More crashes and lost files ......anyway I am still working on a 95 o/s and I love it. My sister just switched to NT and it seems to be working well for her. that would be my suggestion. It's like buying the first car in a new series, they always have problems. Windows has really worked out there bugs and the NT version seems to be the best.
