There have been reports that people have been going door-to-door in southern Colorado, claiming to be collecting money for the Red Cross. But Cynthia Rodriguez with the Colorado Springs chapter of the Red Cross said that's not true. She says the agency does not send people door-to-door to solicit donations. Rodriguez said that all donations should be made directly to the Red Cross. And officials say anyone approached for a Red Cross donation should get the name and other identifying information of the person responsible. But there is a way that you can legitimately help the victims of the tragedy. You can drop off financial contributions in collection canisters at our 7NEWS Studios, http://www.thedenverchannel.com/ , located at 123 Speer Blvd. in Denver. Red Cross volunteers will collect contributions between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Thursday. Checks should be made to 7Solutions National Disaster Red Cross Relief Fund. Checks may be mailed to: Mile High Chapter American Red Cross 444 Sherman St. Denver, CO 80203-4425 You can also drop off your donations in Red Cross collection canisters at all Gart stores.
