Personally I think we have keister to kick and after that we can get back to

the business of talking about world peace and love, etc .. but I am passing

the below along for my friend who wrote this and this prayer time is her way

to try to help (she is a New Yorker in Ireland) Feel free to pass it on to

whom you want where you want ....

*Hugs*

Time to focus

> This is a call for peace. For those of you who don't know me, I am a US

> citizen, living abroad. I share a house with an older Iraqi man, who has

> made me painfully aware that, though the attack on the US is inexcusable,

> events like this have been taking place in the middle east, the victims

> there as innocent as all those killed in and around the World Trade

Center.

> There is no excuse for terrorism, but there are causes or it wouldn't be

> happening.

> It is crucial we reach beyond revenge and anger at this time. In the

highest

> aspects of our natures, there is hope, compassion, healing and wisdom. We

> can tap into this and send it, concentrated, like into the world psyche to

> blossom into solutions. Instead of more pain, let us have some

> understanding. How was the soil that grew the hatred made fertile? We can

do

> nothing to change what as happened. But our willingness to become

> accountable, and to choose the higher path, can change what happens next.

>

> I believe in the power of prayer. One small act, or change in attitude,

can

> have a domino effect, for better, or worse, on the rest of the world, one

> person at a time. When we pray, we have access to the parts of our minds

> that generate the messages we send, and we have the power to choose what

we

> contribute to the collective unconscious of the world.

>

> There is scientific evidence that our thoughts also have an affect on

> physical matter. Our thoughts are shaped by our perceptions, and our

> perceptions are based on our beliefs. Our experience of what is happening

in

> any given situation is determined by our perceptions of it, and therefore,

> our reactions. We send signals (via body language, at the very least) to

> other human beings, and animals, communicating our attitudes and

intentions.

> We have the power to choose what messages we send with our bodies as well,

> but only if we make an effort to confront our beliefs.

>

> All of us have been affected on myriad levels by the collapse of the World

> Trade Center. Those of us that are American are experiencing reactions

> ranging from the primal to the compassionate, and most of us have a

mixture.

> I consider myself a spiritual person, but if I am honest with myself, I

must

> admit that one of my reactions has been anger, hurt pride, a desire to hit

> back, how dare you. that kind of feeling. It's as if someone just

seriously

> wounded the imperfect big brother who always protected me, even if he was

an

> arsehole from time to time, and now, I have forgotten all he might have

done

> to deserve it, and want to see him get up and thrash the motherfucker who

> did it. This is me being honest with me, and you.

> Yet, I know very well that isn't the answer. I know that this reaction

will

> only cause more pain and horror to innocent people. And in a way, I know

> that those who did it have seen more than their share of pain and horror

at

> my big brother's hands.

> I am not writing all love and light because to do so is dishonest, and if

I

> do not face and accept my gut reactions, they stay buried, they retain the

> power to motivate me on many levels, and they remains as potential sources

> of violence, both within me and generating out of me. We have been hurt, I

> have been hurt, I want to hit back, I don't want the consequences. I know

I

> have a choice, today, right now, as to what I am generating to the world.

I

> cannot afford, because e cannot afford, to indulge my anger. Face it,

> confront it, accept it, now let it go.

>

> I am asking all of you to get honest about all of your feelings, and then

to

> choose the best within you to live in. I am asking you to join me in a

> focused moment of prayer, at 8 AM pacific time, 11 AM Eastern time, 4pm

> Greenwich Mean time, beginning Friday 14th September, continuing every day

> until the full moon on October 1st, as often as you can remember to do so.

> Monday the 17th and Monday the 1st- the new and full moon respectively-

are

> especially significant, so if you can only show up two days, make it those

> two.

> I am praying for the politicians to get the big picture outside of their

> personal agendas and preoccupation with power. I am praying for those who

> are suffering mind twisting and heartbreaking personal loss. I am praying

> that this insanity ENDS HERE.

> An eye for an eye? What, do we keep going until we have no more limbs

left?

> Until all that is left is a desolate wasteland?

> Find the core of peace within you, however it manifests, whatever you call

> it, and go there for 5 minutes every day from now until the full moon.

Maybe

> you might see yourself holding the hands of two others, and their hands

> joined to others, in a huge, world- wide chain of sanity, love, healing

and

> forgiveness. Maybe you go to church and light a candle, maybe burn some

> incense to your ancestors, maybe face east and kneel to Allah, maybe face

> each direction and greet the elementals, maybe pray to the human spirit

> cause you don't believe in god. It doesn't matter what form it takes. And

> remember, revenge doesn't heal anyone.

> Further, if you have any inspiration for other, more earthbound approaches

> to achieve this end, take the actions and get them started.

> Please pass this on. If necessary, translate it into your language and

pass

> it on. We are all in this together and we are responsible. Maybe we can

make

> something god come of this atrocity.

> Peace,

> MA
