the coarse salt is $4.00 lb plus whatever it costs to get it shipped

to me. the guy is going to send it 3rd class slow boat to colorado

mail to keep shipping costs at a minimum. i'll do the same shipping

it to you. order now for october (i need to know how much to get) 1

lb. minimums, please.

if anyone is interrested there is a fine grind. it is $5.25 per lb.

(more labor to grind it he says).

Chris,

Put me down for 2 lbs of the coarse Hawaiian sea salt. PS, is this the edible one? I can't remember.

Thanks,

Kate

yes they can be used to make bath salts, but because they are truly

red i would use it as part of my bath salt mixture so as not to make

the water look like moses messing with the nile river *lol*. i also

think they'll make the most wonderful salt scrubs! so do you think

you want one or two?

michele is our resident candle making guru! but for years i have been

taking hunks of old wax blobs from used candles and remelt them. i

really want to get into making beeswax candles. maybe this way we can

actually afford use the oils to scent them (although beeswax smells

so nice to begin with)!

I think we should order that too... I too want to find some nice

beeswax and make some chamical-free candles, and scent them with my

oils! I can't also find that burning material - that cotton thing,

what's its name... I'd say we should try to find and order beeswax

and that cotton thing! Anyone agrees?

it is somewhere between that size (those are about 1 & 1/2 lb) and

the size container you'd get a small order of potato salad in (12 oz

fits in that).

think of enchantments and all the sea salt we scooped out over the

years working there. we sold it in 1/4 lbs minimum there.

1 lb. so not too much of salt, especially if making gifts . . .

although mixing half red salt with sea salt will help.

The brown color comes from heating the beeswax too hot, it tends to burn,

and the resulting candles don't burn well either.

Boy, am I just butting in on every question today aren't I! ;)

That's too funny!

Oh, and do you have a woodburning fireplace? The leftover wax makes great

firestarters and you don't have to use the newspaper to start a fire.
