I've noticed that on the two wards i have visited, alot of patients

are attached to IV drips. The drips contained the cooked decoction

of either Huang Qi or Dan Shen. Of course they are used in the TCM

theory of promoting Qi and blood respectively.

All herbs are prepared onsite using a herbal decoction machine that

i think is from South Korea. (i'll try and find a web link later

on). It cooks the decoction, refined into a watery liquid without

all the bits and seals them in little plastic packs. 1 pack is one

dose. Such a great idea, but alas they are heated in microwaves

before given to the patient. O well, nothings perfect.
