All,

I don't think it is only a matter of adapting browsers to different encodings.

It is also a matter of comitting to a degree of courtesy toward opinions that

are not always popular here. I remember that a very bright TCM nurse

tried to contribute to one of the listservices but was very poorly treated,

indeed insulted from a Chinese perspective, because her image of TCM was

conditioned by East Asian attitudes.

Hi Bob,

Yes, i see the issue here, especially after that little episode

before. I'm sure there may be a few hitches, but i think there needs

to be more of a bridge between the various cultures and languages

involved in TCM and I hope this list can become the bridge.

Of course they'll be differences, whether theoretical or cultural.

Members will all have to be on their best behaviour as ambassadors

to the West. Myself and Marco will be moderating the English side of

things with a tighter grip, whilst a Korean, Japanese and Chinese

speakers will have to be found to moderate the Asian messages coming

through. For the meantime, i'll try and twist my wife's arm into

checking the Korean and Chinese texts. If anyone has any

suggestions, please let me know.
