Hello every body, I need a little of help.

over weight.

She is under hormonal suply, but wants to test

acupuncture treatement.

I have found a lot of sugestion for hyperthyroidism,

but not for hypo.

Can anny body give some lights?

Thanks,

What I have found in every hypothyroid patient I have treated is

that each has a Kidney yang vacuity as well as a Heart Qi or Blood

Deficiency (usually they have irregular heart rates/rhythms).

Usually the two go hand in hand to produce a thyroid issue.

Treatments, of course, would be to supplement Kidney yang and

strengthen Heart. Can you give some background as to symptoms,

pulse, tongue, etc. so that we can figure out herbal recommendations.

wise words.

the extra mile, what caused the K ya vac?

5 possible answers -

1. an imbalanced Water

2. Metal Mother does not nourish

3. Earth SP attacks

4. Fire HT counterattacks

5. Wood LV seeps backwards.

Fdo, let's have the input.

Ross, let have more.

BTW by now we should be calling the condition a TCM name.

I do what's called a " KD/HT line " tx when I find HT/KD

vacuity, esp. when accompanied by weak Ht/Kd pulses.

The Tx is only done the first 2-4 txs. , in order to

build up the KDs. It is: BL 23, Du4, BL52, and Du11,

BL15, and BL44. These pts make a " line " in the KD and

HT areas on the back. It works for me.

The causes can be multifaceted. If we are looking at a young

person, most likely the Kidney vacuity is constitutional. If it's

taking place in an elderly person, we are looking at someone who has

depleted themselves with lifestyle (pushing oneself past

capabilities, excessive sexual activity/ejaculations, multiple

pregnancies, trauma with pregnancies, menstrual disorders, breast-

feeding numerous children back to back, poor nutritional status,

etc). We all see many cases of Kidney deficiency, but why do some

wind up with a thyroid imbalance? The part that I find

determinative of the thyroid condition (in my limited experience) is

some Heart issue leading to a HT/KI imbalance. (I would love to

know if others can corroborate this.) In many instances we see a

temporary hyperthyroid prior to the burnout. Here someone usually

has some Heart yin deficiency. Obviously, a weakened Kidney can

over time lead to problems in the Heart system. My guess is that

these people have pre-existing Heart pathology, i.e., shock, trauma,

circulatory issues, birth trauma, excessive aerobic exercise, etc.
