Ok, more extracts from another day of notes.

1. According to my supervisor doctor, recent research has shown two

types of Yin:

A. Fluid damage relates to fluid around the cell, whilst

B. Yin damage relates to fluid in the cell.

2. In Kidney failure, apart from the method of clearing out toxins

via the suppository method using the formula Guan Chang Yao, you can

decoct a herbal bath and sweat the toxins out. The prescription to

bathe in is Ma Huang, Gui Zhi, Ai Ye, Chuan Xiong and Shang Jiang,

all at 15-30g. Patient must sweat for 10-20 mins. Wear a lot of

clothes after. This method can only be used twice a week.

3. Da Huang by itself can be used as an effective way to clear

toxins out of the body in patient's with renal disorders. Using

small amounts can lengthen the Kidneys life-span. Dosage is 2-3g

crushed into a powder and taken orally. Apparently, during the Ming

dynasty large quantities was exported to England where it was used

medicinally in the same method. It acts to increase water into the

stools and the release of toxins.
