overdue intro!

hi there everyone

 

my apologies.....i did think that i had introduced myself some time ago, on

first joining the group?! must have been dreaming

 

ok...........my background is in western medicine as a nurse, midwife, health

visitor, occupational health nurse.....always on the frontline! also worked

in the pharmaceutical industry with blue-chip companies during the 1980's, my

last post being as a regional manager covering the north of england and

scotland.

 

trained in 1989-1992 in TCM at the northern college of acupuncture in york,

england. then in 1994-96 trained in chinese herbal medicine, although i have a

very strong interest in all types of herbalism. 1998 was the year i began my

research degree, which has been very long and taxing as i decided to do a

clinical study and had no financial help or assistance. i do hope to complete

this in the next few months but my topic has not been particularly easy to

research - chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

 

in 1992 i opened a clinic of complementary/alternative medicine in wakefield,

west yorkshire and closed that in 1998 after becoming 'burned out'! funny i

should start my dissertation then?! since then i have worked from various

locations within the area but always my loyal patients follow me.....sweet!

 

i have two grown-up children, one is an 'eco-warrior' and the other an

aeronautical engineer. i live with my 2 dogs, 2 cats and one very aged goldfish

(>20years!!!).

 

now is that too much info.........or is that ok?

about the query i had about ITP.
