Guest guest
The recent flurry of introductions made me realize that though I've been a member of this list since last Spring, and have posted here a couple of times, I never formally introduced myself. I practice acupuncture and herbal medicine in Rockland County, NY, USA - in the northwestern suburbs of New York City. Graduated from PCOM-NY, 2001, but my avocational study of Chinese medicine goes back more than thirty years. In my mid- forties the old career (filmmaker, mutimedia producer, and consultant writer) got really old, and I got younger, and decided to go back to school and pursue licensed clinical practice. My background also includes study in rabbinical seminary, meditation training in a number of traditions, and several decades of continued study, teaching, and translation of classical kabbalistic and chassidic philosophical texts. I also teach at PCOM-NY (Clinical Counseling) and anticipate growing involvement with the educational projects and post-graduate clinical training to which Ken has referred in recent weeks. I joined this TCM group after friends had prevailed upon me to join the CHA list, and upon my arrival there I was invited by Attilio to sign up here as well. I am also one of four moderators at another discussion group, CMN, where the discussions tend to focus and expand upon the meta-issues, strategic thinking, and philosophical and poetic aspects of Chinese medicine. I will, if I may, return the favor bestowed upon me by Attilio and invite all to check out that group at: www.tulku.mandala-designs.com/mailman/ listinfo/ch inesemedicine-network. I also contribute occasionally to another of more specific interest, known as TraditionalJewishMedicineandTCM. Thanks to all for making it interesting and keeping it real.
