Guest guest
All, > In essence, influence/power is about respect. Respect for a person > or group is largely about about credentials and credibility, AND the > resources and organisation to demand that respect. Personal and institutional respect in the medical sciences and medical delivery system are established by a person or a field's presence in the " peer review literature. " Since a clinical doctorate will not qualify anyone to undertake an academic doctorate, and since those who hold it will not be qualified to participate in the peer literature, it is hard to imagine it will do anything to improve our chances of influencing the FDA. Guest guest
I think it is unwise to beleive that an individual could influence the FDA to do anything that would cut into the profits of the drug companies. It is not about respect. It is about dollars. If you are interested in pursuing academic doctorate to influence the FDA, I believe you will be sorely disappointed. Keep in mind. Even court orders as a result of law suits do little to pursued the FDA to change it's policy.
