The ultimate benefit from agressive activism is the key driving factor to a final resolution. The end result is all that is desired. Beware that ''Sleeping with the enemy' carries with it a potential danger for the profession. The result of the FDAs momentary win with AA showed how weak AP/OM profession was. The FDA grossly over stepped their boundaries and Congress knows it. What many do NOT know is that the FDA was pre-meditatively testing AP/OMs resolve. The results of that first round.....AP/OM loss...FDA win. Regarding the ephedra battle.......you well-know they are being more covert and beating around the bush for now....with the other shoe waiting to drop. David.... you also well know what Robert Moore (FDA) has to say about the AP/OM practitioners dispensing Chinese herbs. Therein lies the real and only problem. On a most important level it's not about whether the herbs are dangerous. So no matter how you think you are interceding with your input regarding the current rule for the dietary ban on ephedra (alkaloids).... the bottom line WILL still stand...... which can ONLY be rectified by a Congressional Statutory change totally exempting Chinese materia medica and its practitioners thereof. More people see this? How many? It would be surprising if it was more than a handful in the sea of 20,000 U.S. APs. As to 'going for it'.......you keep watching. Adding an ongoing column that educates poeple about our current situation and what the readers can do about it would be a good start. Who out there works with a magazine?
