Guest guest
All, I've been trying to get a clearer understanding of a set of issues related to education in Chinese medicine. And I would like to ask all of you for some help. Actually I've been working on this for some time now and have gathered up a lot of data and points of view from a large number of people. But I thought I'd just pose one question directly to all of you in the hopes that I can have my eyes opened yet again. So here's the question, and I look forward to any follow up discussions that might arise: What are the weak areas in Chinese medical education in your personal experience of it, either as a student, teacher, graduate, or in whatever other capacity any of you might have had such experience? And just to try and keep the discussions that might follow balanced, what are the strong areas? I am just trying to get a sense of what people perceive as being done well or poorly in their own personal experience of education and training in Chinese medicine. Another way to pose the question, at least for those who have completed a training course and are in professional practice, might be to ask, " How well did your education and training prepare you for the realities of clinical practice? " Or more simply, " Could you use what you learned in school to treat and cure disease, to help people live healthier longer lives, and to deal with your own health issues effectively so as to be an example of radiant good health? " Or are there areas that need work? And if so, what are they? Many thanks to all who have a response they might care to share. Ken
