Guest guest
Hallo, I am very interested in TCM though I havent done any courses so I ask this question as a lay person. A few years ago I read something that intrigued me and I have wondered about it ever since. It was a mothers story of her sons struggles with schizophrenia, starting when he was 17 years old until his death at 24 years old. He was affected severely and spent the last few years of his life, more or less living on the street. The mother wrote that during the times when her son was physically ill, with something like the flu or a chest infection, when he would have been having high temperatures, he was completely normal, no schizophrenia, it was like having, for a few short hours, they son she once knew. Then as his physical condition improved the disordered thinking, hearing voices etc. returned and he was back in full blown schizophrenia. She said he wasnt just a little bit better, but that he was totally back to normal while he was feverish. I would be interested if anyone can tell me the dynamics behind this sort of thing or has any ideas on what is happening in this sort of case.
