Guest guest
hi, my name is Kate, and I have just joined the group. thanks to attilio who has put up with my endless technical questions - I still don't know what the blank emails are about! I have a question to throw out there, and as I'm new to the forum, please correct me if its out of line. Its a question about Chinese herbal medicine education really...I'm a qualified acupuncturist ( a little out of practice, but still working in the field of chinese medicine), who is thinking seriously about studying the herbal side. I have done my research about courses in the UK, and speaking to people, I get such different opinions!!! Everyone seems to have their own agenda and many have personal gripes which may be unrelated to the actual course - I don't know! Its hard to know what to think. Can anyone out there offer me their informed and unbiased (as far as possible?!) opinion on where to look? or just at least what to look for in a good course? I'm not interested in negative feedback, or politics - I would just love to hear some good, healthy advice and experiences from Chinese herbalists who have studied in the country. If this question pushes the limits a little - please let me know. otherwise, I look forward to hearing from those out there. Kate
Guest guest
Glad you made it Kate! I have no idea what the blank emails were either, o well. I see your a bit of a night owl, watch that kidney essence! Wish i could help with the herbal course, but i don't know any that are seperate. My course is both acupuncture and herbal. Anyway, i'm sure someone in the group will be able to help you. Guest guest
hi kate just seen your query about chinese herbal medicine courses in the UK. you may want to access the register of chinese herbal medicine website...www.rchm.co.uk they will have listings of all of the courses available......though you have probably tried that already :-) i can only speak from experience of where i trained ... some of the tutors have changed since then, though some emminent scholars still lecture on the course. the college itself has a very good reputation.....northern college of acupuncture and herbal medicine in york. the course is a 3 year one in chinese herbal medicine and quite separate from the tcm acupuncture course. telephone number of college is: 01904 343305 and their website is: www.chinese-medicine.co.uk only you can decide which you feel is the most appropriate.....i personally enjoyed every minute of my herb training......i also did my tcm training there, so maybe im biased?? anyway, you can send for the prospectus (if you havent already) and let your instinct be your guide. in truth i have learned more since qualifying and every day brings a new discovery. good luck and please let me know how you get on blessings jax x Chinese Medicine , " kate " <littlesoul22@h...> wrote: > hi, my name is Kate, and I have just joined the group. thanks to > attilio who has put up with my endless technical questions - I still > don't know what the blank emails are about! > > I have a question to throw out there, and as I'm new to the forum, > please correct me if its out of line.
