Guest guest
Hi Chris, Yes she has. I did suggest that she might take B12 as a suppliment anyway. Thanks. Val
Guest guest
Hi Val, I posted a doc file in the Files section of this group at: http://health.Chinese Medicine/fil es/Misc/ This describes the nature and possibilities of this syndrome according to W.M. In terms of Ch.M. all possibilities are open... If there is an identifiable pattern that you can associate with this symptom, such as: H. fire blazing, St. fire or even an aparent Yang (Yin deficiency) - treat according to this pattern. In my opinion though, in many cases this may be an isolated problem of the tongue, not necessarily corresponding with a clear cut syndrome. In such a case, use points: Jinjin-Yuye underneath the tongue in bleeding, as well as P-7 (bleed) H-5 in dispersion. Also Li-11 and St-44 may be added symptomatically. Rest of the points - according to your differentiation. I have already treted one or two cases like this and this treatment should give good results. If you can keep me posted about the rsults I would like that. > Hi, I have a new patient this week who describes herself as being diagnosed > by her G.P. as having " Burning tongue syndrome " . Guest guest
Hi Shmuel, I read your doc, very interesting. Yes, i agree, its probably related to Empty Heart Fire caused by a deficinecy of Kidney Yin, commonly seen post menopause. Tian Wang Bu Xin Wan may be a good formula to try. Guest guest
Hi to the group and yes perhaps i may be able to help you with this syndorme. i myself also experience this and sometimes it can become quite red and swollen. There are also after drinking wine or eating hot food two quite distinct lines running from the back to front. i am also going through the menopause myself at the moment, although i am not on any HRT. i have also been experiencing an attack of Hives and have started drinking Ju Hua and Gou Qi Zi as a tea to get rid of some heat in my body. this has worked moderately well. However when i used a combination of Bai Ji Li and Fang Feng for my Hives i also noticed that my tongue wasn't so hot or swollen. Also drinking the Ban Lan Gen tea in powder form has also helped. I suggest the use of heat clearing herbs in this case. Let me know how you get on. my tongue at the moment still feels a little hot but nearly as bad as it was. Pam _______________ Tired of 56k? Guest guest
Hi Needledoc and all, No obvious signs of yin xu. Tongue looks normal apart from tip looking slightly redder than the rest. It's pink, healthy, thin white coat, no cracks. In fact a very healthy looking tongue. Val

Guest guest
Hi odug(is that your name?) Fluids dont seem to make any difference. She occasionally sucks ice cubes which make a difference for the time she has the ice cube in her mouth. I used ren23 on her last week so will see what the feedback is. Thanks . Guest guest
Hi Christine, Thanks for the suggestions. No evidence of oral or vaginal thrush or sinus problems. This really is a mystery as to the origins of it. Regards, Val
