Hi,

I am a bit late in catching up with the correspondence. I have combined what is called Western Herbal Medicine, South American Herbal Medicine (primarily from the Rainforest) with Oriental Medicine with great effect and positive results. I am very interested in Herbal Medicine from all over the world and will be traveling for the next two years in this regard. When I started doing this I would give the herbs or formulas at different times of the day and eventually I learned how to combine them. I don't have a system for this except for experience and judgment. It sometimes depends on the condition and sometimes the patient. After a while you learn who responds to what. Some people respond better to one thing and some to combinations. I would start with what you know until you know how the herbs you are using work for your patients and then try different combinations. Sometimes I think it really has a lot to do with what you resonate with also. Go slow!! I took my time figuring out how to do this. I also had a good knowledge of Western Herbals before learning about Chinese Herbals. Also when I try something new I always keep close tabs on the person until I know how they are reacting.

I do also use homeopathic remedies, essential oils and flower essence for which I have training and experience along with acupuncture and Oriental Herbal Medicine.

Hope this helps.

Bobbi
