Dear friends,

My name is Satya.I am originally from Kerala, South India, living in Germany for the past few years. Since childhood, I have developed an interest in healing and helping. My initial background is in Yoga and Ayurveda. Later, fascinated by Acupuncture, I have done my studies in TCM at the Centrum für Naturheilkunde in Munich. Since the last seven years, I am practising with some medical proffessionals here. I am also a Qi Gong student of Master Zhi Chang Li and trying to incorperate the Qi Gong methods to acupuncture.

I am deeply interested in becoming a member of this esteemed and active group. I sincerely hope that we will have a very fruitfull and creative interaction and exchange of ideas.

I wish all of you the very best,

satya

hi marco,

thanks for the welcome, and the question. incorperating qi gong methods is actually an idea i am working on.in my view it could be done at different levels of complexity/simplicity .at

a basic level, the patient is shown some simple but effective practises like yang qi fa (nourishing the qi) ,which makes him aware of the dan tien,qi hai,qi etc..yang qi fa is a very pleasent exercise, which could be done while sitting or lying on the bed.it helps to stregthen the constitution.

i have been taught a few methods to absorb and trasmit qi.this involves methods using lao gong and certain mudras.in the hands of an evolved qi gong master, such methods could work wonders .as i am not a qi gong master,i don`t dare to do such practices.may be at some time in the future.

as a via media, there are some methods in qi gong like plucking evil qi to soothe, for example ,a red hot swllen knee.in this purticular situation, using visualisation and the fingertips just pluck the heat and inflamation.these are some ideas which i have when i think of incorperating qi gong methods.

perhaps, these are qi gong kindergarten methods.i am sure there are evolved souls, who, just through a glance or handshake, wke up the patient to his/her buddhahood and hopla, the great healing takes place.

in the context of tcm, tom, team,i could imagine, if the prctitioner is ardently practising qi gong ,the tratment gets more effective and profound.by the way, kenneth cohens book on qi gong offers a very elaborate discussion on this perticular aspect.(ch.15).i found it very inspiring.

regards,

satya
