Guest guest
I asked this question some time ago and no one has answered yet. I have to just guess based on what I have picked up in other ways First I guess there are no clear distinction Secondly They seem to be related in many ways except geographically and through cultural manifestation. Example, Japanese acupuncture Toyohari cant be called TCM or CM, but it can be called TOM. So TOM seems to be a wider spectra Sun, 2 Nov 2003 08:19:28 -0800 (PST) David Razo <ozar14 What is the difference.... But Stephen Birch's " TEAM " concept -- Traditional East Asian Medicine -- could cover them all. Jim Ramholz
Guest guest
Does anyone wish to comment about " pre " and " post chairman Mao " medicine using acupuncture, moxabustion, herbalism and bodywork. Penel
Guest guest
David Razzo and Holger, This question is something akin to "what's God" or "what's love". Has Marnae Ergil or Ken Rose written historical commentaries specific to this? Aspects of this question have been responded to by so many. Penel, your notation references the most recent re-invention due to Mao's administration of Chinese medicine called TCM. Although the recent discovery of ancient scrolls in the northwest province caves will lead us to ever newer renditions of "what's CM". Seems that after decades of study, people like Paul Unschuld and various other translators are getting a grip on this. My recommendation is to read books by Paul Unschuld and Marnae's recent translation. Ken's books also give a sense of what's up. That should take a year of good studying, and then you can apprise us of your findings. I, for one, would like to hear of your discoveries and commentaries. Are you refering to Marnae's translation of Practical Diagnosis from Tietao Deng or to another book/article? Alwin
Guest guest
Just now I'm reading Medicinals, by Jiao Shu-De ... to which she contributed. Bought it at Bob Felt's Redwing Books.
