Guest guest
Dear Phil, John Upledger, d.o.(US) and Jean-pierre Barral, d.o. (France), are innovators and teachers who have each had extraordinary success working with spinal cord injuries. The therapies that they have developed respectively are: Craniosacral therapy-Upledger, and visceral manipulation-Barral. I would encourage you you read about their therapies at: www.upledger.com. Upledger, alone has trained over 50,000 practitioners and was cited by Time Magazine as one of the 20 eminent healers of the 21st century. If you would like a referral to someone who integrates one of these therapies into their treatment protocol, let me know. Are Die Da Wan or Yunnan Baiyao applicable here? See my reply to Maria. I will forward your advice when you respond. Many thanks, Best regards, Phil >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Maria, sorry for delay - I was teaching in Barcelona and just got home today. WHERE ARE YOU? WHEN did the shooting occur [i.e. how long has your husband been paralysed)? I do not want to raise your hopes in an unrealistic way. If your husband's spinal cord is injured seriously (for example if it is completely severed), there is almost zero chance of recovery from the paralysis. If, however, it is only " nicked " , with minor cutting damage (but with local cord pressure from clots/oedema/fluid swelling), there is a possibility of significant improvement if you can find a really skilled acupuncturist and/or Chinese Herbal Doctor. It is most important that you ask your husband's hospital doctors what they found during surgery, or on scans/X-ray examination. Ask for the EXACT location, nature and extent of his spinal cord injury. Also ask for their HONEST LONG-TERM PROGNOSIS. While acupuncture/Chinese herbal medicine may not cure his paralysis [if the damage is very severe], it may be very helpful to ease his pain and muscle spasm, and to calm his spirit and help his psyche. I have a few contacts in Japan and France, and will ask for their recommendations if you wish. However, expert acupuncturists / Chinese herbal doctors exist in most countries today. Meanwhile, I urge you to get some homeopathic ARNICA C6 + HYPERICUM C6 + NUX VOM C6. You will get these in any good homeopathic pharmacy. Give one tablet of each, three times a day. Start immediately and stop after 2 weeks if you see no improvement. I have put your husband's history on several professional lists today and will feedback any comments from colleagues. May God bless you, him and your loved ones. Phil PS: Please do NOT send your husband's records here. Keep them for the doctor(s) who will treat him. However, my colleagues on the lists will want to know a summary of the medical findings, especially the exact location, nature and extent of the spinal cord injury. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Best regards, Email: < WORK : Teagasc Research Management, Sandymount Ave., Dublin 4, Ireland Mobile: 353-; [in the Republic: 0] HOME : 1 Esker Lawns, Lucan, Dublin, Ireland Tel : 353-; [in the Republic: 0] WWW : http://homepage.eircom.net/~progers/searchap.htm
Guest guest
Dear Phil, Depends. How old is the injury? Yunnanbaiyao is appropriate for bleeding but will not emphasise invigoration of Blood as much as Die Da Wan. Die Da Wan is more appropriate if there is bone breakage. Otherwise Qi Li San. However if the injury occurred longer ago than recently then it is likely that a modified Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang is more appropriate. The patient should be counselled that, if the pain gets worse once treatment starts, it is a positive and expected progress. Regards, Robert Cran. Cape Town. Still no feedback from MARIA GONZALEZ on the duration or exact nature of the cord injury.
