Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm a Chinese, 21, and live in Singapore. I have just recovered from my radiotherapy a few months ago to treat my nose cancer. The treatment resulted in unpleasant side effects of which both the local eastern and western doctors I visited had tried hard but find no means to relief. I have recently realized that I am suffering from Patulous Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (PETD). PETD is common to people in the first few years of recovering from post-cancer therapy. In normal conditions, Eustachian tubes are closed most of the time, they only " pop open " occasionally to ventilate the middle ears. People with PETD have trouble because their Eustachian tubes are open too often. The result is periodic blocks of hearing loss. I can hear my own amplified breathing and vocal voices within myself. It is like having a mini mono channel radio broadcast inside your head. These noises often block out the surrounding sounds I need to hear. This has given me difficulties in most of my conversation with teachers and classmates in school during the daytime when the symptoms are most severe. I have been seeking an experienced TCM doctor and treated with Chinese herbs. My health has been quite stabilized. My first post here is quite long for an introduction. But my main interest is still in TCM. In fact, I was a student studying in a TCM college sometime ago. However, due to my health conditions, I have to quit school. I am trying to seek advices from more experienced doctors/practitioners on my conditions. Other than that, I am also trying to find out more ways to learn TCM as a student while I recuperate. I do not wish to give up. Please provide some guidance. Thank you for reading this far. Best Regards, Chien
