You are very lucky not to have had this! Plantar fasciitis is a most

painful condition and is difficult to treat. But it would be easier to

treat than the following case.

One friend, a most athletic young woman (runner, cyclist, mountain-

climber, long-distance-hiker and world traveller - she had walked in

N. America, S. America, Oz and Nepal), had severe plantar pain for

several weeks (?months).

Her condition was misdiagnosed by hospital doctors as plantar

fasciitis. Being no better than the hospital doctors, I went along

with that Dx and tried AP and massage to help her.

Some months later, having made repeated complaints to the

hospital that the pain was getting worse, she had a biposy taken. It

showed a vicious cancer - Ewing's sarcoma. In children that cancer

is quite successfully treated without leg amputation, but in adults,

prognosis is said to be hopeless without amputation.

Following expert advice from specialists in that cancer in UK and

Ireland her leg was amputed just below the knee and she had

several rounds of chemotherapy.

I was quite unable to help my friend, even after the amputation; she

has had constant trouble with the leg prosthesis (pressure-sores,

stump inflammation, pain, etc.

In her case, I was impotent - nothing that I tried was of use.

Best regards,

>>>Actually in most cases it is not that difficult to treat. Usually

biomechanics of the foot need to taken care of.

The antibiotics that cause Achilles problems are the Quinalons (? spelling)
