Guest guest
Dear Gustavo Daud Amadera I have never heard of or been taught anything about carotid-radial Yang/Yin balance. Can you explain a bit more for me? Anniex
Guest guest
Anniex I guess wildly that it is the same pulse I use in Korean Hand Acupuncture It is called Yin/Yang pulse and is done on carotid and radial pulse. I use it very often myself. If it is the same as Gustavos this is how it works: The carotid pulse at ST9 is compared with the radial pulse at LU9. the carotid pulse measures the artery boold flow going to the head in front of the neck. The radial pulse measures the artery blood flow in the back of the neck. When they are equally large/thick the flow to the brain is in balance, which gives the brain an optimum chance to participate in the healing process. When the carotid pulse is larger one of the Fu organs is unbalanced and when the radial pulse is thicker one of the Zang organs is unbalanced. The difference in thickness tells me which organ it is. Ie: 2:1 radial means the liver is unbalanced, 4:1 carotis means LI is unbalanced. Other signs tells me if it is deficient (vacuity)or if there is an excess. This takes a minute and is done on both sides. the treatment I do is to sedate or tonify the meridian with one " gold " and one " silver " pellet on a micromeridian on a finger (dip and pip joint) takes a few seconds. Then I can verify if the treatment is correct. I may use palpation also but mailnly I use the pulse. The pulse is balanced almost immediately. Some people can feel that they are in a great balance just seconds later. It is really a great way of correcting an imbalance and a quick way of confirming other diagnostic answers.
