Fernando,

I had my first test with a Chinese Ti flute. A Doppler meter was used for

objectivity and measured the pulse changes. As my experiments in sound evolved,

I have used both voice and instruments (most recently I have tested brain waves

and tones using the EEG). There is a little more information about this story in

the Acupuncture Today February 2003 issue (you may get it at their web site

also).

The quality of the instrument was integral in the Chinese healing medical model.

There is an instrument for each season for example. We are in fall now and the

instrument is a Metal Gong. The horn is closest to the Ocarina, the season of

late summer.

Take Care,

Dean,

I've had an interest in sound and healing for several years and have

been practicing a form of sound Qi Gong for self-healing and with my

patients for some time. I'm also a jazz musician and the tenor sax is

my instrument.

Since you've done research on the subject, I thought I ask you

whether the first healing sounds were produced with an instrument or

the human voice?

Regards,

provide this group with some of the most up to date data regarding

the testing on subjects with frequencies (i.e. Delta Brain wave A and

B) and the affects. Also, personal experiences and references to

Acupuncture theory and Sound (i.e it's origin and

physics/mathematics). The sound or tones preceded acupuncture and I

make a direct connection to the Ba Gua (Prenatal and Post Natal Gua)

coming from a musical scale for example.
