Do you know if anyone has continued his work? No one seems to be talking about this material with his > interest and in the kind of detail that he did. >>> Sharon: I spoke too soon. This afternoon I received a copy of the European Journal of Oriental Medicine, which has an article by Stephen Birch on Manaka's acupuncture. It summaries Manaka's octahedron model for acupuncture, which Birch is teaching around Europe. An interesting side note: the bagua or 8-sided figure is interesting for some very scientific reasons. A bagua can be created mathematically during the eversion of a sphere. Yin and yang---the interior and exterior of the sphere---change places in 3 dimensions by moving through each other. When the process gets to the midpoint, the figure can be cut in two to reveal the bagua, an eight-sided figure which is the most stable path through this process. The basic yin/yang divisions of the body first proposed in the Suwen have finally been " completed " by supercomputers in the 20th century. I have an illustration of the process on my pulse forum. Those interested can view it by clicking on the link. AdvancedPulseDiagnosis/ Jim Ramholz
