Guest guest
Dear list, I have a friend that was shot in the head. I have seen him only once at the hospital because had to leave the city to complete some work out side. today he will be coming home to his family. from what I can gather he is very lucky I am not aware to what level he has damage the brain or not. Not aware of where the bullet is. It stands to reason that he has a lot of pain and will see if the family wants him to have some form of acupuncture. off couarse not cranial at the moment as the head is very swollen but if there are anyone that knows about this situations and or have the experience (similar cranial accidents and so forth) I would appreciate any encouraging words of advise how to treat... Guest guest
Dear Naava, Thank you very much and also thank you those whom responded of list. The infrastructure system here in Guatemala really is in a disarray. My friend " was " supposedly better but after having been sent home worsen and now is back in a another place and the heart of medicine be it western or so call " Alternative " medicine is mainly practice as a puritan business (as opposed to a obvious personal need and need to mediating, participating in the sanitation of the persons being treated, which ought to be the driving force really...) I suppose I keep mentioning these things because I am surprised as to how a society can deteriorate so much (or maybe I am just too naive). The info, will study it for the rehabilitation, where I am volunteering Wednesdays and Thursdays at the hospital, where there are a lot of patients due to shots wounds although not in the acute stage. Guest guest
Dear Marco, I remember reading a piece on this years ago. I'm afraid I am really stretching to remember the whole content, but two things come to mind: 1. I remember a lot of foot and lower command point acupuncture, but especially a lot of Huatojiaji points, as these are the connectors to the spinal nerves, all of which could probably use a tune-up if he was shot in the head, as communication between brain and limbs will be impaired. 2. When the swelling has gone down, there was mention of using 'Medical' and non TCM acupuncture on the cranium itself. The head was divided up into portions, and each portion was mapped according to the motor function of the body, and the cognitive function of the portion underneath. Perhaps try and find a Medical Acupuncture textbook and see if you could find this diagram. I will try and dig out the article, and contact you if I am successful. Good luck, Naava. > " Marco " <bergh >Chinese Medicine >, ><Chinese Medicine > > help advice please >Tue, 9 Sep 2003 11:10:15 -0500 > >Dear list, > >I have a friend that was shot in the head. > >I have seen him only once at the hospital because had to leave the city to >complete some work out side. > >today he will be coming home to his family. from what I can gather he is >very lucky I am not aware to what level he has damage the brain or not. > >Not aware of where the bullet is. > >It stands to reason that he has a lot of pain and will see if the family >wants him to have some form of acupuncture. off couarse not cranial at the >moment as the head is very swollen but if there are anyone that knows about >this situations and or have the experience (similar cranial accidents and >so forth) > >I would appreciate any encouraging words of advise how to treat... > >Marco in Guatemala > >
