Guest guest
Doc I don't know whether we agree or disagree on many points.....but one thing I can tell you for sure......that words are nothing more than gutteral sounds..... attempting at best to be pointers.......they are multiple order abstractions from a reality. Abstractions which have no meaning at all .........other than 'pointing' by sound. And too many people get too uptight over rediculous ideas that it must mean this or that otherwise you can;t use it. MDs do not have any property rights to the title or word 'doc', 'Dr', 'doctor'...etc. This is exactly what we went through here in Florida and it cost over $80,000 to defend the right to continue to be called 'Acupuncture Physicians'. The average caring MD whom we all can work with wasn't the problem. Richard > David, > As many others before me i am put off by your tone. > BUT that may well be the email process and not intended. Guest guest
David, As many others before me i am put off by your tone. BUT that may well be the email process and not intended. This is not how i have perceived you in person. I am particularly annoyed by what i see as a personal attack on my choice of using my nickname from my childhood until my mid 30s as the name i am called. Doc is what i have been called by friends since i was 13 and if you have a problem with this do not even think of making it my problem. acuman1 wrote: >Everyone who has written legislation and pushed it knows that if one wants something in particular and puts it in with other legislation or Rules and Regulations (easier yet), and renders all other views intolerable with eloquent righteousness, then they usually get it pushed thru with the other legislation. < As I have explained this is not legislation but is a response to legislation in the form of a REGULATION. You all but accuse me of a very unethical type of behaviour based only on your own thoughts. Perhaps you would resort to this type of conduct ( i do not think so) but i do not! This was something i sat and worked on after the representatives of our proffesion signed off on the basic idea. >For instance, one of my ideas of security is to call myself whatever I want.< If you call yourself by a title you have not earned you are committing fraud! If CO chooses to have numerous titles and confusion for the next 50-70 years until everyone with them dies off, this is ok too. < Talk about non imformation and verbal manipulation! If you ever want to talk about this sans the flames and manipulation i would be glad to discuss the issue. If this is your idea of a conversation or debate ....forget it. Many Acupuncturists have earned the academic title Dr. Colorado recognizes OMD, DOM, DAOM, DTCM,D Ac, and other such as legitimate degrees entitling one to be called Dr. but if you have a M Ac and call yourself Dr. you are using a false title. Guest guest
This is flaming. Please reframe from attacks made to people’s names or nicknames. My nickname is ‘Till’, doesn’t mean I like I carry cash though! Let’s keep it to TCM and be more constructive rather than let our emorions bet the better of us. Take a Liver tonic or drink a cup of camomile tea before answering to messages that get you worked up. TCM practitioners need to stand together and battle our cause rather than bicker. Let’s sort our house out first with constructive dialogue and then take on the world and make it a better palce! Guest guest
phew he he thanks Attilio. I agree completely! It's ok to get worked up, but one needs to keep the 2nd connection, so we have a creative dialogue and not just reactive monologues. There's always a creative connection to what get's us worked up. and it comes from the whole. :-) Från: " Attilio D'Alberto " <attiliodalberto Svara till: Chinese Medicine Datum: Wed, 3 Sep 2003 11:01:17 +0100 (BST) Till: Chinese Medicine Ämne: Re: The word 'doctor' and personal attacks This is flaming.
