Guest guest
Hi there, Vanessa. I've been having constantly good results combining lieque L7 and jiexi St41. In one case, patient suffered from very nearly daily migraines for over 25 years and had had only a brief respite period of 6 months while he lived in Paris and had acupuncture on a regular weekly basis. This patient took up to 2 capsules os Saridon (I don't have any in the home to give you the components, but it's a strong analgesic often used for menstrual pain in BR) daily. I had a hell of a time doing pattern differentiation, wich seemed to be obviously liver heat (red eyes, easily angered, prone do diarrhoea with yellowed faeces, slightly trembling hands, migraine worsening with alcoholic consumption, pulses confirming etc) but then with treatment all these signs would disappear for weeks - but not the migraine itself, wich then seemed to relate more to cervical tightness and pain but would not respond to needling classic points for that such as Kunlun B60 Shenmai B62 Jianjing GB21 and all those nape and upper back cavities we all know about. Nor would it respond to GV opening with Houxi SI3 as a first step. I also tried mixing in some GB cavities when the pain hit the temples mainly and patient had a bitter taste on his mouth and a superficial strong GB pulse, wich sometimes also happened, but the darn thing kept coming back after 2-3 days relief, or even less. Finally I hit on lieque/jiexi protocol and now the patient takes only 1-2 of Saridons a month wich I take to be a very good improvement. This is a case whose outcome made me specially happy as the patient is my father! ) Anyway, it's a curious protocol as there's little that could be argued for lieque's efficience in cases of headaches and such... little that I know, at least - I'm willing to be enlightened. Vanessa, I hope this contributes and can't help wishing out loud that someone had helped me with my skin-manifestation case, but maybe discussing actual cases is not found as stimulating by most list members as discussing the acupuncture politics of their countries. No criticism implied here - I know politics affect practice in a very real way. I live in a country where a final legislation on TCM is yet to go through congress and is currently subject to terrible lobbying by MDs who want to have total control of acupuncture and TCM practice (not an MD myself), so I'm familiar with passionate debate on the issue. However, I was surprised at the cold reception my advice request got. Perhaps the treatment I was using could simply not be improved upon? )) Or people don't feel at ease sharing their strategies? Have I perhaps made a faux pas unawares using cavity names not alphanumeric code? Cheers Daniel

It may be to basic a place suggest, but I am amazed at how few people really take a persons diet into the equation. Good news though, Chris
