Guest guest
Lynn: so, some folks in our profession insist that yes, we have to be called doctor. that has to mean one of two things. in one case, we would be called doctor, as is, doctorate degree or not. this is already true in florida, eh, and new mexico, and where else? 'Dr' is usually reserved for anyone who has a doctoral degree. Alon: Actually they do not have a problem with Dr but with physician. For some reason they fight all other professions who try to use this title, including other western types thanks, alon. how interesting. so, naturopathic and chiropractic physicians are out of line, too? yes, that sounds fear- and ego-based. Guest guest
anand: 2. try & prove that your results are better than theirs. 3. show that the work done in hospitals is baseless & short cut work, while you are doing curative work. after all work specaks for itself. you can be right if you want, and do know that this approach will preclude any integration of our medicine, and it will precluded any effective communication between conventional medicine and the rest of us. i see this willing to stay separate and consider ourselves the real, better healers, too often in my profession. so, it is okay for us to think ourselves better than them, and criticise Them to hell for thinking themselves better than us. i choose not to approach my interaction with MD's and DO's thinking that even the seemingly sincere may turn coat in hypocrisy at any moment. i find this approach disappointing and alienating, to say the least. Guest guest
Legislated TITLE of Doctor and/or Physician...in 5 US States that I know of....New Mexico, West Virginia, Arkansas, Florida, Rhode Island. Primary care in 5 states+ by adding in California. Possibly also Colorado and State of Washington. In the US.....out of 20,000 'qualified acupuncturists' about 14,000 are primary care providers.
