I agree with Attilio, Richard, please share your expertise with UK

acupuncturists.

Just one small qualification though, Atti said:

The actual state of affairs is that we pay for our health system (NHS)

through taxation of earnings. It only perceived as free because we do not

part with cash when we avail ourselves of a service, but the NHS is not

'free' in the sense that air is free. Everyone who has supported the NHS by

paying taxes during their working life has a big stake in how service

delivery pans out in the next few years.

So, now is the time for professionals and service users alike to demand

proper training procedures and accreditation installed within the NHS.

Re: Digest Number 138

AOMNC is already the largest national acupuncture organization in

the US and for sure when this hits the streets (should be filed by

next Friday), we will be the largest acupunctur eorganization ever

immaginable. Others only claim to be the spokes organizations for

the profession. See I don't just talk empty talk.....I walk the

walk and produce the real results. When I get where I am

going...acupuncture and it's qualified practitioners in the United

States will BE respected and reimbursed for their services on a well-

paid basis.

Please Richard, come to the UK and sort out the regulation thats

coming into effect in 2008, its a right mess (see my previous

messages on UK regulation). It's in a worse state than the US 'coz

of the health care in the UK being free. So why see an

acupuncturists and pay alot of money when you can get it free by

a 'weekend' doctor or nurse at the government hospital?

What can i do about it?

yes if richard can assist that will be great.

my feeling on this matter is it may need to be handled

differently.

one needs to look at the political system & get a few

influential patients in the right places who are aware

of the benefits of cm in the nHS. they should be

targeted to propogate our cause.

i think you shoudl send out an SOS to all UK

practitioners to list all the important client who

would be willing to be canvassed for this great cause.

if there are any pollies, royalty, big wigs, will add

to the cause. then the fight will be on a winning

foooting.

good luck

Will do what I can after this weekend seminar AOMNC is sponsoring for license

renewal. A very large turnout.

Keep in mind though that there are huge other differences in political

climate and mechanisms....but TRY...I will.

AOMNC can lend it's support as both a National and International COALITION.

We already have thousands from the United States who have joined and maybe 100

internationally. The more we come together the more we can SPEAK and have REAL

influence in this political arenas.

The most important is that there is NO fee or costs involved in joining. Sim

ply go to the website and sign-up.
