Guest guest
Terry: There are still many MDs opposed to acupuncture, labeling it quack medicine, but there are a growing number of MDs who are open to its potential benefits. When they take these weekend courses, the MDs do not immediately conclude that they are just as experienced in the procedure as someone who has had several years of training at an acupuncture school. There are some bad doctors out there, but most of them are rather caring health care professionals. Not enough has been done to bridge the gap between different health care professions, to bring greater Taoist harmony to the warring medical factions. I have to agree with Terry on this points. MD's ARE people like us and are not all monsters we try to make them out to be. It's so easy to attack someone when you de-humanise them. Rather its the few, usually placed at the top of the medical politics tree, that causes all the problems. The ones that care are the ones busily treating the ill and needy. Let's be a bit more realistic in our perception of reality and humankind spirit, eh? Attilio

People engaged in all aspects of Chinese medicine in the U.S. and U.K. are representing a minority perspective. There's a need to stand strong and represent the views of the CM paradigm without compromising or misrepresenting the paradigm. The most powerful influence or salesmanship is to be of competent service ... to genuinely help. Do not bow to, cringe before or fear WM. Instead offer a helping hand. This is the way to come in to your own authority. Yes, it's hard to be a minority, yet it is still possible to come into your own authority. Guest guest
you are so spot on. but the world is ruled by political leaders & the rest have to follow. same in all fields of endeavour whether its politics, scientists, the budget man or the yes man always fronts up as the leader . then they take the direction of what they wish to do. same with md's. theya re being led as far as theya re concerned in the right direction. unless we can influence change we are doomed. we have to change the, within their system. a specialist does not go for a w/e course & start practising their speciality - gyne, paed, ortho, NOT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE. BUT MORE BECAUSE THEY WILL GET SUED IFTHEY DO. HENCE THEIR UPDATE COURSE ARE USEFUL ONLY TO REFER. WE DO NOT HAVE ASTRONG LOBBY TO ASSERT OUR CAUSE. ONE OF TH BIGGEST ENEMIES-OPPONENTS WE HAVE ARE THE DRUG COMPANIES AS THEY ARE TO LOSE. SO THEYA RE THE REAL OPPOSITION. anand --- <attiliodalberto wrote: > Terry: > > There are still many MDs opposed to acupuncture, > labeling it quack > medicine, but there are a growing number of MDs who > are open to its > potential benefits.
