I came home today to find 40 emails in my inbox from this list alone

(primarily from two members) and I have to say, I found little I could respect

in some

of the behavior. To disagree is one thing. It is the heart of debate and

the opportunity to hone or relinquish ideas. But insulting those that don't

agree with you is completely needless and does nothing to bolster one's point.

If

anything, it detracts from it. I have to say, it is the kind of grandstanding

and pomposity that is making me consider leaving the list.

How about a little professional decorum? Can we not respectfully disagree

and argue the merits rather than take personal pot shots? How can we expect to

be respected by those outside our profession if we cannot find it in ourselves

to treat our contemporaries with respect at points of challenge?

I put it to you, the group. Is this the kind of energy we want among

healers? Many of us take issue with the dismissive (and sometimes condescending)

attitudes that seem prevalent in some members of the allopathic community. Why,

then, are some so ready to emulate that behavior here? Seems so unnecessary

and so fruitless.

be well,

Maya

Well said Maya.
