Guest guest
I often find gua sha or spooning very effective means of relieving and /or identifying muscle spasms. This is also a technique you can do on yourself or have an unqualified person do for you. Just apply some oil to the area and using something with a smooth edge like a ceramic Chinese soup spoon stroke across the skin of the affected area. You don't have to use too much pressure - adjust to comfort of patient. Often the problem area will become obvious with a dark 'bruise' emerging - then put a needle into the darkest spots and usually pain is relieved. Keep warm after treatment. This should be easy for students to do on each other. Good luck Sue
