Guest guest
All, I want to thank those who took the time to reply to my question about theory. I don't have time to take up individual points in detail, but I am working on this subject and will share whatever results seem worthy of attention as they become available. I'm getting ready to hit the road for a couple of months and will likely be off line much of that time and perhaps longer. I wanted to comment briefly on one thread that has been dangling...the one about consciousness. What the human brain seems to do is to make it possible for us not to pay attention to virtually everything around us so that we can focus on just one or two things at a time. We seem to be easily overwhelmed and need this kind of shock absorber. So my advice to those who find certain topics nauseating is to just emulate the function of the brain and delete and/or igore it. There are serious consequences to forbidding communication. I'll be happy to talk about this at any length that anyone desires... ....but not right now. For now, here's a quote from that lovable old revolutionary, Thomas Jefferson: " Our most fundamental liberties depend upon the freedom of thought and the freedom of expression; and you cannot limit either one in any way without destroying both. " And just to provoke even more and louder " Duh's.... " Here's another from Søren Kierkegaard: People hardly ever make use of the freedom they have. For example, the freedom of thought. Instead they demand freedom of speech as a compensation.... I will check in from time to time as connectivity permits. Best to all, Ken PS. I think it was Matt who said he was going to play more. I'm down with that. Let's play more.
