Ken:Why? You cite Wilber, but why would these criteria be the ones that would have to be used to evaluate, well anything at all, let alone everything? Lon: 18 years ago Wilber blew my mind with his book The Holographic Paradigm. It synthasized for me the core of what I knew about CM and made it a living reality. I published an article, " The Holographic Paradigm and Acupuncture " which was my first joiurnal article in the field. Now, Ken Wilber's work has made another significant leap. His integral 4 quadrant/eight level model is truley mind blowing and I've never found a framework as succinct for the integration of observation and data across all realms of the human experience. Spiral Dynamics as championed by Don Beck, Ken Wilber, and Andrew Cohen, offers a scientific, integral model for the study of the evolution of human consciousness which is simply, in my experience unparalleled at this point in history. It is similar to the 5E model but works better with cultures than individuals. I elaborate this model at the end of my new text, " The Clinical Practice of Chinese Medicine " in a section titled " Cognative Styles in the Practice of Chinese Medicine. " To those interested in integral models I suggest reading the last two issues of What Is Enlightenment magazine where Wilber, Beck, Cohen and others outline the state of the art in holistic/integral nowledge and its application to the evolution of conscious awareness. These can be viewed at: www.wie.org. Ken, Can you think of a different brakedown of phenomena other than, I, we, it, its?
