Guest guest
Where can we buy Red Yeasts? Ed Kasper Mon, 19 May 2003 09:45:06 -0500 " Alon Marcus " <alonmarcus Re: Re: Red yeast Here is an email from the Pharmnex study researchers on red yeast rise Alon There were 1.5 mg of Monacolin K or lovastatin in the 300 mg red yeast and rice capsule and subjects took four per day. They resulted in a lowering of cholesterol of 20% which would correspond to 20 mg mevacor so we think the other monacolins or other substances were active. Guest guest
Here's a one-page summation of the situation. You're right about companies selling the non-lovastatin versions: http://www.dmarknutrition.com/articles/0006.html On Feb 10, 2008 8:22 AM, Nancy S+13 <nancy wrote: > I've used it in the past for that purpose (lowering cholesterol) and it > works great. Guest guest
There is an indian herb called guggul. However, I couldn't recommend a particular brand. I was searching for something until I found out my overall cholesterol was borderline because my good cholesterol is very high and my bad cholesterol is normal. I'm hoping next time I go to my MD, lifestyle changes will bring my ldl down a bit more so my overall is in the target range. sjb Chinese Traditional Medicine , Nancy S+13 <nancy wrote: > > I've used it in the past for that purpose (lowering cholesterol) and it > works great.
