Guest guest
Hi evrybody! My name is Jag I'm a first year student at Middlesex University studying BSc Traditional . I don't yet know enough to join your debates, but it's still great to be able to read your e-mails and learn so much. Thankyou for inviting me to this group. My major reason for choosing this course was my own health. I suffer from a ranger of ailments ranging from depression to asthma and many more in between. Going to see your GP for treatment of such diseases didn't give you much choice. They give you the drugs and you take them, no questions asked. This happen to me and I ended up on a cocktail of drugs with a whole host of unpleasent side-effects. Since begining the course I have recieved treatment with acupunture and herbs. In a short time I was free of many drugs and haven't needed any for the last 5-6 months. I keep being told that I need to make changes to my lifestyle as most of my conditions are due to my constitution and lifestyle. I suffer from Liver qi stagnation, excessive heat disorders and spleen deficiency. My heart and kidney are also affected when my conditions worsen. So far I have tried to avoid all spicy foods and dairy products. Is there anything else that I can do? Thankyou for your help. Peace and love. Guest guest
Greetings Jag Welcome to the group. Re. what else you should do. Start practising Qi Gong to help move your Qi. Liver Qi Stagnation is greatly helped with the deep breathing (learn how to sink your breath). Your asthma will greatly improve as your kidney qi will grasp the the lungs on inhalation. You will learn TCM from your own body. Guest guest
Hi Jap. I'm also a student of Middlesex university, year 4. Ahhh to be finished for another 6 months, what heaven. I also have asthma, for 25 years and some eczema. I was also on a load of steriods and such and have a wonderful shaky hand thanks to ventolin. I also heard that Qi Gong is good for asthma, general breathing exercises also. I started breathing from my abdomen and have never looked back. I've enclosed one of Dr Cheng's internal/external class notes on asthma for you to get your teeth into, hope you like it. Otherwise, enjoy your summer holiday. You'll find quite a few revision notes oin the files section, so you can start revising now!! Also there is previous students coursework, to be used a guideline to your own writing skills. Guest guest
Hey Atillio, It's me again, with that same problem. The attachment to this posting looked like it might be truly interesting, but, alas, i was unable yet again to open it without that crash notice. Not being a puter geek --(i just use the thing) i can't begin to suss out why that is...something with your program? I'm Win98 (do i need to do one of those online updates?). Tim converted the clinical sciences notes, and that worked great. Is there any way i can get the other files, as well as the one you sent with the asthma discussion, somehow converted in similar fashion? I don't know if this is a time-consuming process, so don't know if that's asking a lot, but i would find them useful, i'm sure. ann Hi Jap. I'm also a student of Middlesex university, year 4. Guest guest
I use Windows 98. If you could put the files in an alternate something, that might help, i guess. Thanks, Ann > What version of Word do you use?
