Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have been a member for awhile but haven't posted before. I have been going to a TCM practitioner for a long time and this works very well for the improvement and maintenance of my health. I am also interested in vision improvement and I have a home page and newsgroup on the subject. I am frequently asked what herbs are good for the eyes. I have searched the files and found only a reference to herbal treatments for floaters. Is there anything else in the archives about which Chinese herbs are good for eyesight, both refractive and retinal disorders? My own Chinese doctor says there is a berry that is good for the retina, but he didn't know what it's name was in English...! Thanks, Francine FRAN'S VISION TRAINING HOME PAGE http://home.earthlink.net/~feisner/index.html " FOCUS ON VISION TRAINING " NEWSGROUP focus_on_vision_training/

Wolfberry (matrimony vine) AKA Gou Qi Zi; Lycium Chinese Mill., Solanaceae Lycium yields two distinct medicinal portions. The fruits, Gou Qi Zi, are considered sweet and neutral and to nourish the blood. The root bark, di GU pi, " earth bone bark, is sweet and cold and cools the blood. Both portions of the plant have affinity for the liver, lung, and kidney channels. I use the fruit (red berries) to nourish the eyes. Guest guest
Hi Francine, I read your message and am answering it because I to had the desire to improve my eyesight and have done so. I was very farsighted and heavy astigmatism in both eyes. I could not drive at anytime without my contacts especially at night. I{ could not read regular print such as in books or newspapers, but now I am able to do all those things fairly well. I ran across a Dr. Christopher who has done a tremendous amount of herbal studies and using herbs for different diseases and he believes there is no disease that cannot be conquered. I read his herbal formula for better eyes and did it and wal-la my eyes have improved beyond anything I believed imaginable. I drive at night or day without my contacts, read regular print, and even very fine print which was impossible before. His formula deals with using Cayenne Pepper as an eye wash in a formula called bright eyes. You can probably get it at your local health food store that is where I got it from. I don't know if you know about Cayenne Pepper and its properties for healing, but it is considered the best of healing herbs of any of them. I did a study on it and found some marvelous healings from it. I use it exclusively for any thing I do dealing in helping people recover from there sicknesses. If you are interested and wish to know more then write me here and I will give you more information. Guest guest
Hi Ray, Thanks for the info. I actually already knew about this, as I also belong to a newsgroup called " Getting Well. " I have the eyebright formula and some variations on it, from The Dr Christopher or Dr Schulze website, I believe. I am not the one with the eye problem. I wanted to find other herbal treatments because there are many people who just don't want to put cayenne in their eyes. I like cayenne, and use it all the time to clear my sinuses. I also used to make up my own herbal formulas, a mixture of tinctures. I haven't done this for a long time, as I think my TCM is so much better at concocting formulas that work. But I remember that I always used to put a couple of drops of cayenne in, as this made the formula work better. Guest guest
You might also want to look into the Indian herbal formula called Triphala. This formula is a well known panacea for many problems, among them eyesight. It can be made into an eye wash. Here is an article by a well known herbalist (Michael Tierra) which talks about Triphala and its many uses (including how to use as an eye wash) at length: <A HREF= " http://www.planetherbs.com/articles/triphala.html " >http://www.planetherbs.\ com/articles/triphala.html</A> Best wishes, Sarah Original request: Tue, 26 Aug 2003 23:14:52 -0000 " Francine " <feisner First Posting <I am also interested in vision improvement and I have a home <page and newsgroup on the subject. No surprises though. I've been eating habañero pepper on a daily basis for a great many years. I guess I'm an endorphin junkie :-) Don
Guest guest
thanks for all those info. Quite interesting. but what about the yin. because I guess it is not so safe for the yin, too much cayenne or anything very hot. Do you precognise something to prevent yin lack (maybe drink )) ) - baidanwu34 Chinese Traditional Medicine Saturday, August 30, 2003 9:47 PM [Chinese Traditional Medicine] Re: First Posting Hello Seb, Here is the official website for Dr. Christopher's herbal products: http://theherbshopconnection.com/ Here is a page which discusses cayenne with some direct quotes from Christopher (now deceased): http://www.notmainstream.com/cpinfo.htm Here is a page with a short biography of Christopher: http://www.herbsfirst.com/drbio.html Stories of Christopher's use of cayenne: http://www.herbsfirst.com/NewsLetters/0299cayenne.html Also you might look in the archive here for references to cayenne.
