Guest guest
Being a smoker and not intending to give it up, I wonder if TCM has pointers for those of us who would like to take care of ourselves as we smoke? Thanks in advance Hesaling41
Guest guest
First of all, practice Qi GONG. Then eat well, sleep well, be reasonable on your wishes, and be kind to yourself. I'm sure it 'll work !! Roberta
Guest guest
Hi Arnold... I simply could not resist replying to you! Consider your question/request very, very carefully! You state (and I assume you mean cigarettes) " and not intending to give it up... " .. Why, then, if I may ask would you " wonder if TCM has any pointers... " Obviously you do care enough about yourself to ask for " TCM pointers " . However, as a medical practitioner very much concerned about the societal cost of smoking, I urge you to (re)consider the paradox of your statement and your position. TCM Pointer: smoking can cause irreparable physical and energetic damage to vital organs e.g....lung & kidney yin deficiency, lung heat, yang deficiency, essence depletion, etc.etc.etc. ...cardiopulmonary diseases, cancer, emphysema etc. etc. etc. If you still chose to smoke, Arnold, may I suggest daily antioxidants, plus a maximum of up to an additional 1 gram of Vitamin C (esterized) daily, to start. I do not personally think any A. P. or D.O.M. would recommend any herbs or medicinals without assessing your condition in person..... Twyla. Being a smoker and not intending to give it up, I wonder if TCM has pointers for those of us who would like to take care of ourselves as we smoke? Guest guest
The native Americans believed that smoking was a heathy part time occupation, they smoked only occasionally at most once a week, and NOT in the Teepee!! I smoke herb as an experimental treatment for stress to my lung starting with agent orange and ending up with Chernobl firefighting. I hope the resins will bond with the foreign entanglements in my lung and I will be able to expectorat them. Smoking cigarettes with chemical additives is bad, and chem free is the better alternative. Smoking marijuana has been recomended for some ailments including chemotherapy and stress related ailments. Plenty of water and or mouthwash is recomended, a constant cough means you should cut down or quit. Smoking around a deadly mould environment could lessen the effects of the mould on you. Guest guest
Here is a page that describes a TCM formula which is reputed to help the lungs of those who smoke. It is supposed to be used along with another herbal formula, not alone. I have no idea if it will be effective or protective of a smoker's lungs. http://www.hantang.com/HT_044.htm
