Guest guest
Yao not sure where you got that. In my book which I incorrectly copied This is the correct version Yi Mu Cao is Herba Leonurus Heterophyllus Sweet AKA Chinese Motherwort AKA Benefit the Mother herb the fruit of Chinese Motherwort is AKA Chong Wei Zi or Leonurus Sibriricus, L It can be used as an emmogogue and a diuretic It is very beneficial for menstrual disorders, menopause and even anxiety. In Europe it is used as a sedative but they may be using Leonurus Cardia Since it moves blood stasis it is contraindicated in pregnancy. Bensky and Gamble have more. But then we don't know if this is what Jackie is looking for without knowing the purpose. > the Latin name I have for that Yao is: Herba Leonurus Heterophyllus sweet > it is true that there is several indications for that plant. > seb > - >

That would help us tell you more. Great thank you. There was only one reference to it by pinyin name on a google search and I could not get it to load. It was just included in my formula this week by my chinese doctor because I am menstruating. His results are superior to the medical herbalist I was seeing, even though the latter was trained in China. I'd actually made myself more ill worrying about the horse and obsessing over his diagnosis and treatment. My herbalist added some herbs for a bit of heart and liver fire, but took out Bai Zhu, and my insulin resistance needs that I think - at any rate the formula did not help, and some old symptoms returned. I was intrigued to see what Dr China would prescribe (sorry, that is what the outlet is called - I must get his name!). He put together quite a 'kitchen sink' of a formula, but it worked an absolute treat. It's funny I am finding with the horse too that a complex formula is needed - quite a lot of differnt things need 'support' at least before he can take the more 'treatment' herbs. Anyway, without prompting Dr C put me back on Bai Zhu, plus Dang Gui (rather than Du Huo), Bai Shao, and Xiang Fu (I was sure I had some Liver stagnation with the frustration over the horse, and he apparently thought so too) plus the obligitory Gan Cao and Chen Pi, and an old friend Yu Jin. New to me herbs were Bai Zi Ren and Lain Xi Xin and Huang Qin. Despite last weeks symptoms being resolved, I was very tired after a very busy week, and my back was aching, so this week he added Huang Qi, Long Dan Cao and Xu Duan. It's great fun seeing him make them up then and there, so I can ask about the herbs as he does it, write them down, and they make a potent draft I can tell you! They mean business the Chinese, none of this try this and come back in a month - he wants you feeling better by wednesday!! I have 145g of herbs in each bag, and he wanted me to boil them once and take them all in one day - only reluctantly agreed to two days on two boilings. It's an experience! What's the average dose in the US and China? Jackie Jackie
Guest guest
Jackie It's Yi Mu Cao or Herba Leonuri Heterophylli (also known as Motherwort). It invigorates the Blood, regulates Menses, promotes urination, clears heat, & has been used for heart disease & hypertension. I'm most familiar with it through gynecological cases. It's really good at moving blood. Lisa. jackie <jackie wrote:Anyone know this herb, I can't find any info?? Thanks Jackie
