Yes definately. I am a very thin, Deficient Yin type person. I can't even drink tea in small quantity. I can drink coffee without problems, so I don't think all can be attributed to the stimulating aspect of caffeine. Tea makes me very nervous and jumpy, very thirsty and I can't sleep even if I drink the tea early in the day. I believe it to be the diuretic and maybe even moreso the astringent property of tea that does it. Is coffee diuretic? Anyway ...tea is does not appear from my experiences to be good for thin, hyperactive people. Lynn
Guest guest
The media's been full of the benefits of tea (Camelia Sinensis) for quite some time, but I've been wondering about what sort of negative effects regular tea consumption might have. Off the top of my head, the biggest elements of tea that might have a negative impact are the caffeine, and the diuretic/astringent qualities of tea. I've seen a few articles over the years describing health risks of tea drinking--mostly backlash articles when green tea started to get big (including one that claimed that it caused throat cancer!), but nothing I'd take seriously. Has anyone had any negative experiences, or heard of any, connected with tea consumption? cheers, J.
