Guest guest
I'm trying to define this in TCM terms, and am drawing a blank. My dog had her eye removed over 2 years ago, (I don't know exactly when, since she had it removed before I adopted her), and just recently developed a lump under the sewn shut eyelid. We finally opted for surgery, to find out what is going on, and a cyst had developed. Certainly there is Qi Stagnation in the eye socket, (just an empty space now), and there must have been some Damp accumulation. Any thoughts on what to consider the problem from a TCM point of view? She is a basically healthy girl, (adult, but not senior dog). Her other eye never developed completely, (don't know if the one that had been removed developed or not. Supposedly it had been injured and removed, but I have no idea what really happened), so she is completely blind, but she does not let that slow her down at all. She is very active, having recently earned an obedience title, (one of the first blind dogs to do so), and has passed the tests to be a therapy dog, which I think she'll also love. She loves taking part in activities, loves people and other animals, and doesn't let much of anything bother her. She does tend towards Stomach Yin deficiency, (with small appetite and limited desire to drink water), but that hasn't been showing symptoms lately, so I think that has been pretty well resolved. Obviously, I'd like to keep her from having any more cysts, or any other problems with the eye socket, so I'm trying to work out what happened. (From the Western Medicine point of view, no one is sure what really happened, either. This seems to be an uncommon thing.) Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.
