Back in 1995, there was a big commotion in abortion circles over

rumours of the Chinese eating human fetuses as health food. It was

eventually debunked as the source (A Hong Kong tabloid) became known,

and after testimony from some living in China at the time that the

clinics mentioned in the article didn't even exist!

 

However, I was curious as to whether there is a grain of truth in any

of this. I know that human placenta (Zi He Che) is used occasionally

in TCM circles; *does* human fetus have medicinal properties? Has it

been used in the past?
