This is the new formula, and looks pretty cool to me. I will ask for Fu Ling

to be replaced/removed at it had too powerful a sedative effect on him. I'm a

little concerned about He Huan Pi and Bai He in case they too have a central

sedative effect, but the joy of using fresh herbs is that they can put those

in a separate bag within each 90gm bag and I can take them out if there is

an adverse reaction.

 

Chai Hu ( Bupleurum) 5

Bai Shao (Peony) 10

He Huan Pi (Albizzia) 10

Shan Zha (Hawthorn) 5

Mai Ya (Germinated rice) 10

Zhi Ke (Bitter orange) 10

Bai He (Lilly bulb) 10

Fu Ling (Poria) 10

Bai Zhu (Atractylodes) 10

Gan Cao (Licorice) 4

Gou Teng (Uncaria) 6

 

Chai Hu ( Bupleurum) 5

Properties: BITTER, PUNGENT - COOL

Dosage: 3 - 12g.

Meridian: GALLBLADDER, LIVER, PERICARDIUM, SAN JIAO

-clears less yang disorders - fever, chills, bitter taste, irritable,

vomiting

-liver Qi stagnation - vertigo, menstrual disorder, chest pain, bloating

-spleen and stomach deficiency

 

Bai Shao (Peony) 10

Properties: BITTER, SOUR - COOL

Dosage: 6-15g.

Meridian: LIVER, SPLEEN

-nourish blood - regulates menses due to blood deficiency

-calms liver Yang - alleviates pain

-preserves Yin - adjusts Ying & Wei levels

 

He Huan Pi (Albizzia) 10

Properties: SWEET - NEUTRAL

Dosage: 9 - 15g.

Meridian: HEART, LIVER

-calms spirit, relieve constrained emotions - vexation, depression,

insomnia, irritability, poor memory

-invigorate blood, alleviate pain - swelling due to trauma, abscesses

 

Shan Zha (Hawthorn) 5

Properties: SWEET, SOUR - WARM

Dosage: 9 - 15g.

Meridian: LIVER, SPLEEN, STOMACH

-reduces & guides out food stagnation

-transforms blood stasis - dissipates clumps

-hypertension

 

 

Mai Ya (Germinated rice (barley??) 10

Properties: SWEET - NEUTRAL

Dosage: 6 - 15g.

Meridian: LIVER, SPLEEN, STOMACH

-reduce food stagnation, strengthen stomach

-inhibit lactation (30g raw + 30g cooked = 60g decoction)

-regulates liver Qi

 

 

Zhi Ke (Mature bitter orange) 10

Properties: BITTER - COOL

Dosage:1.5 - 4.5g.

Meridian: SPLEEN, STOMACH

-move Qi, reduce distention with deficiency

 

 

Bai He (Lilly bulb) 10

Properties: SWEET, BITTER - COLD

Dosage: 9-30g.

Meridian HEART, LUNG

-moisten lung, clear heat - stop cough, sore throat

-clear heat, calm spirit - low fever, insomnia, restlessness, irritability

 

 

Fu Ling (Poria) 10

Properties: SWEET, BLAND - NEUTRAL

Dosage: 9 - 15g

Meridian: HEART, SPLEEN, LUNG

-promotes urination , drains damp

-strengthen spleen, harmonize middle Jiao

-quiet's heart and calms spirit

 

 

Bai Zhu (Atractylodes) 10

Warm

Taste Sweet, slightly bitter

Meridians Entered Sp, St

Functions Tonifies Spleen and Qi.

Dries Wetness of Middle Burner, especially for Deficient Spleen Qi failing

to transform food.

Also used for edema and decreased urination associated with Deficiency of

Spleen Qi and accumulation of Wetness

Stops sweating associated with Deficiency of Qi.

Cautions Contraindicated in Yin Deficiency Heat.

 

 

Gan Cao (Licorice) 4

Properties: SWEET - NEUTRAL(RAW)/WARM

Dosage: 2-12g.

Meridian: ALL 12 - MAINLY- HEART, LUNG SPLEEN, STOMACH

-tonify spleen & stomach Qi - digestive disorders

-moisten lung - stops dry cough

-tonify heart Qi - regulates pulse

-clears heat & toxic fire

-alleviates pain - stops spasms

-harmonize & moderates characteristics of other herbs

-antidote for toxicity

 

 

Gou Teng (Uncaria - Gambir Vine Stem) 6

Properties: SWEET - COOL

Dosage: 6 - 15g.

Meridian: HEART, LIVER

-clears wind and heat in liver - spasm, tremors, seizures, eclampsia

-drains liver heat, ascends yang - headache, irritable, red eyes, dizzy

-release exterior wind-heat - fever, headache, red eyes
