Guest guest
Does anyone have any articles on GERD and TCM written for people who are new to TCM? Al, I checked acupuncture.com and couldn't find anything on GERD. I am especially interested in cases where a weak muscle is playing a role in the GERD. What are the possible TCM patterns that can underlie GERD? Thanks, Victoria

That's Spleen Qi deficiency and it would be GERD that is positional, i.e. laying down only... If you go to my IBS pages, you'll find some differentiations on heartburn, which would definately fit into the GERD diagnosis. http://beyondwellbeing.com/ibs/ > What are the possible TCM patterns that can underlie GERD? Those that I've identified are: Qi stagnation (and/or Liver/Stomach disharmony) Spleen Qi deficiency Food Stagnation Dampness. -- Al Stone L.Ac. <AlStone http://www.BeyondWellBeing.com Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
