Guest guest
Well it seems that I'm going to continue my thread of asking questions about fringe TCM therapies... I found a copy of this article a little while ago. Just out of curiosity, how would this practice affect a person from a TCM viewpoint?? I have seen urine occasionally associated as the bodily fluid of the Kidneys and I know that conditions within the body are often mirrored withing the urine (dark, strong smelling urine with Heat conditions, for example), but I can't imagine what sort of effects reingesting one's own urine might have. (Taken from http://english.cri.com.cn/english/2001/Jun/16954.htm) 3 Million Chinese Drink Urine to Keep Fit: Symposium More than three million Chinese are drinking their own urine for medical purposes, according to a just-closed national seminar on the therapy with human urine. Zhu Jinfu, a senior engineer from Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province in each China, said at the seminar that many of his forefathers had enjoyed longevity thanks to this therapy. The engineer began drinking his own urine when he was 13 and has been healthy for the past 58 years. Yang Liansheng, a professor from the Liaoning Institute of Traditional , said that urine is turned into something like blood serum after it is filtered by kidney. Therefore, urine contains no bacterium and is more sanitary than blood, he noted. As urine contains many kinds of active materials and helps human body resist invaders from the outside, and thus, improves the immunity of human body, according to the professor. Almost 80 academic papers were handed over to the seminar, which was convened on May 26-28 and attended by over 300 participants.(Xinhua)
Guest guest
Hmm, this is interesting. I know that in Germany some Naturopaths work with urine therapy, the urine is collected, gets filtered, and re-injected in the body. The very brave try the drinking ones own urine therapy. Apparently it is used lots for arthritis (if I remember it right). This seems really far out, but who could possibly judge this method without having tried it? yuck ;-) Claudia. P.S.: Of course this would give rise to the question of how or if the urine would be filtered sufficiently in people with severe Kidney deficiency..... ? - walmart_hurts chinesehealing Saturday, November 09, 2002 9:05 PM [Chinese Traditional Medicine] Who would have guessed? Just for the record, the best urine, according to TCM herb theory (or at least my respected teacher) comes from pre-adolescent boys. Not exactly a population where you'll see too much Kidney deficiency. -- Al Stone L.Ac. <AlStone http://www.BeyondWellBeing.com Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Al responds: When my teacher was a young boy, there was a guy on the block who would get all the little boys to come into his house to urinate into a large container. The other parents on the block thought it a bit strange, but apparently nothing abusive happened. : ) -- Al Stone L.Ac. <AlStone http://www.BeyondWellBeing.com Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Guest guest
Ever see the movie " King of Masks " ? Where the master is burned on his leg. He immediately applies ash and attempts to enlist the nearest young boy in order to make a make a poultice of ash and urine. Also.... It was included in one of the formulas I learned but I'm not sure I remember which class.....??!!! Guest guest
A book on Tibetan Traditional Medicine(TTM)I read some time ago stated that urine was used by them for flu, septicemia(is that the right word? -translations, translations!)and the like, but not for everything nor as a preventive terapy. Guest guest
Well, as to the mid-stream, Michael Winn mentioned this in his experience of five days without eating or drinking in a cave at mountain Huashan, it's to clean the urine of toxins accumulated in the bladder, see: http://www.healingtaousa.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?rm=mode2 & articleid=32 >Al wrote >the best urine, according to TCM herb theory (or at >least my respected teacher) comes from pre-adolescent boys. >My teacher added to this.. that it should be mid-stream...not >first out, nor >end of.... >gotta be fast with that catch bowl!! >Kit _____________________ GeoCities Tudo para criar o seu site: ferramentas fáceis de usar, espaço de sobra e acessórios. http://br.geocities./
