Guest guest
Hi, speaking of mental diseases, if someone encounters a case of young female periodical kuang-'violent behaviour' for some time, like some hours once or twice a month, usually several days before the menses, no therapy helps improving her case, during the rest of the month/week she behaves absolutely normal, treat her with strong blood-stasis eliminating decoction, (xue fu zhu yu - decoction), search for bloodstasis symptoms, as suggested by Wang Qin-ren in 'Correction of Errors among Physicians'. I am writing this because even in chinese books this case/treatment style is hard to find and the it is listed in a single sentence, and western books ignore it completely. Guest guest
Thanks, tayfx, for going into one of those Roots that doesn't get covered in the texts. One of the key indicators that this may be a case of kuang caused not by Phlegm-Fire Harassing Heart but of severe Blood Stasis is the way they kuang symptoms are tied so closely to her period. The rest of the time she is fine. > young female > periodical kuang-'violent behaviour' for some time, like some hours > once or twice a month, > usually several days before the menses, > no therapy helps improving her case, > during the rest of the month/week > she behaves absolutely normal, > > treat her with strong > blood-stasis eliminating decoction, > (xue fu zhu yu - decoction), > search for bloodstasis symptoms, > as suggested by Wang Qin-ren in 'Correction of Errors among > Physicians'. Can you go into the symptoms and signs of Blood Stasis for the readers on the list who are new to TCM as well as for students? I've touched on the subject (use search function in message base and search for Stasis), but I suspect you have some in-depth knowledge on Blood Stasis. The type of things that textbooks don't bother to tell people and is learned only after experience. Thanks, Victoria
