Guest guest
Hi I have just joined this group and am not sure where to start. I joined the group after my first experience with acupuncture and discussion with the physiotherapist who helped me with a recent neck pain. I am from UK and used to the " take 2 a day and come back in 2 weeks if it doesn't improve " kind of treatment but now I am working in Norway and the philosophies here are alternative :-) I am part of the " fried Mars Bar " " lettuce is rabbit food " generation and have decided I want to change my lifestyle. I have struggled with minor weight problems al my life and want a change of life which encompasses healthier eating and healthier psychology. As a stressed, prone to panic attacks worrier I need to find a way to improve myself from the inside. There is so much information and mythology around it is difficult to know where to start so I came here. I am open minded and looking forward to learning - there is soooo much wonderful and exciting information, advice, I feel revitalised just taking it all in nevr mind practicing it. My first surprise was learning that I havn't even been breathing properly lol Sorry for the long mail but I want to start right so if anyone has any advice I would love to hear it. Kindest regards Rosalyn
Guest guest
Hi Rosalyn, Welcome to Chinese Traditional Medicine. The earliest posts in the message base will walk you through the fundamentals of TCM, but that may be a bit overwhelming at first. You also can do a search in the message base for topics like breathing, diet, flavor, panic, etc. Please feel free to ask questions. There are plenty of people on here who can answer your questions. There is a wide range of members ranging from those new to TCM to students to professionals. Victoria
Guest guest
Hi Heather, Welcome aboard. Make yourself right at home! Over the years this community has continued to grow and share. We have list members from all over the world, on every continent (except for Antarctica - I don't think we have anyone from there here and a great deal of the folks here are happy to share their knowledge and experiences - with an amazingly limited amount of strife occurring. There is no " exclusive " brand of oils or products that the entire list purchases. I am the owner of this list and I sell essential oils, but I also allow ads from other members who sell oils here too. Might be strange in the eyes of some that a person who sells supplies and toiletries would allow other purveyors in the same field to place ads, but I believe that friendly competition is healthy and only makes us strive to improve ourselves, and that goes for business too Now, as for Young Living - I personally don't care if its that company, or another company, or an author, or a medical professional, or a gov't agency, or what have you, that I know is fraudulent in some manner, or unethical in some manner, or caught with their pants on fire in a lie in some manner, etc ... I'll call that spade a spade as the old saying goes! I say it as I see it. YL is no exception, and unfortunately they have given a lot of reasons to call them out. Also, many (not all) of the folks involved with them seem to be eerily " brainwashed " and act like a cult; which makes it even more odd I don't choose to use their oils, and I don't tend to like to support companies that have a fundamental problem with being an honorable business and having any integrity. In short, the founder, owner, and hierarchy of that company have no scruples, and I won't support that If you like to use YL's products, I don't have a problem with that - that is your choice. Only thing I might have a problem with is recommending to folks to use any oils in one of the unsafe manner that they promote (and that goes for unsafe " practices " in many areas, and not just unsafe things that YL promotes). So, I do hope you enjoy it here Heather YL is not an ongoing major topic of discussion here. Once in a while it pops up, and just like any other topic, its gets discussed for several messages and then we move on. I encourage you to read through the archives to get a really good feel for the list. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com heathermer1972 [heathermer1972] Hi, I just joined this group. It looked like a great one. I am really disconcerted though to see the wide bashing of YL oils and people who use them. s this what this group is about? I do use YL oils. I like them alot. I also use Oshadhi and some others. I am not a follower of any specific modality of oil usage. I just use them as I see fit and what fit's in with my research. I have been studying and using oils for 12 years, and I have found that is what works best for me and my family. So, what I am wondering now that I have joined is, is this just a group that uses an exclusive brand or follows a certain person's knowledge, or as one post that I read states- is a place for everyone to learn and discuss? But then that same person posted often bashing YL and it's users. I am truly in need of an answer, as I do not want to spend time in A hostile or negative environment, when I just want to learn more about the oils and the great things they do. Please do not try to " enlighten " me on all the YL junk. I have read it all, and still prefer to use those along with others. I really am honest in wanting to know if this list is what it says, or is the overall tone against YL oils? Just for clarification, I am not a distributor, just a customer. Thanks for some honest answers.
