I've tried to put together an accurate list of 5 element

correspondences in the Database section of this Group. Does anyone

notice any errors or important omissions in my table?

Also, a question; I am having difficulty with the tissues associated

with Earth and Wood. I have seen Earth associated with muscles, flesh

and fat. I have seen Wood associated with muscles, tendons and

sinews. Can anyone recommend appropriate descriptors for the

associated elements?

I believe Earth is related with the structure of the muscles, the actual

flesh, whereas Wood relates with the muscular function, seeing that the

Liver's Blood flows to the muscles when these need to perform.

Everyone please remember that overlaps, seeming

inconsistencies and paradoxes are all right!

Thanks to everyone for the assistance. The insights on the

differences between Earth Muscle and Wood Muscle were very helpful,

as well as the advice on thinking of TCM concepts in terms of natural

phenomena.

I suppose that the problem with list-type correspondences is that the

concepts are often a bit too complex for one or two word

explanations. Then again, I suppose that it's much more important to

understand a concept and how to apply it rather than knowing what

it's called necessarily. When in doubt, I could always refer back to

the original Chinese, if I can find it.
